School Meals

At Parkside Community Foundation Primary School, we recognise that good nutrition is fundamental to a pupil’s growth, learning and overall wellbeing.

If you wish to provide a packed lunch for your child, please click on the packed lunches link that provides advice and suggestions for a healthy lunch.

We encourage parents and pupils to make nutritious choices. To find out more, please see our Healthy Eating Policy.

Hot Meals

At Parkside Community Foundation Primary School, our hot food offering is provided by Caterlink. Caterlink prepare fresh, nutritious meals that prioritise quality ingredients and support healthy choices for pupils. They offer healthy menus that are fully compliant with the School Food Standards.

School dinners cost £3.05 per day which amounts to £15.25 for the week.

Payments for schools dinners must be made directly to Caterlink via the parent/carer’s online account.

If you order a school meal for your child and payment has not been made in advance you will be contacted by the school office and asked to make an immediate online payment to ensure your child is provided a school meal.

Free School Meals

All pupils in Reception through Year 2 are eligible for Universal Free School Meals provided by the Government.

For pupils in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), eligibility for Free School Meals depends on certain household income/benefits criteria.

Do you know if you are eligible for a free school meal? If you are, or if you are unsure, please complete the Free School Meals Form on the KCC website. The application is processed instantly and you will be notified immediately if you are or are not eligible.

If you need any assistance or have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Allergies and Dietary Requirements

We recognise that some pupils may need specific dietary arrangements due to medical conditions, allergies or cultural preferences.

If your child has an allergy or dietary requirement, please inform the school office. If your child has an allergy, you will also need to complete a Caterlink Allergy Form.

To help keep all pupils safe, food sharing is not allowed and we ask that no nuts or products containing nuts be brought into school.
