At Parkside Community Primary School our curriculum is designed so each child can develop confidence, independence and resilience. We encourage our children to develop skills that will enable them to make decisions, self-evaluate, and make connections with the world around them. We want our pupils to be become lifelong learners. During learning opportunities children acquire key skills, knowledge, concepts and values.
Our children will plan and carry out research and explore ideas from different perspectives and support their conclusions through evidence. They will share these ideas with increasing confidence in oracy skills; building upon vocabulary as they travel through the school.
The children will ask questions to extend and challenge their thinking, and the thinking of others, with confidence and adapt their ideas accordingly; reviewing their success and acting upon feedback from others to improve. They will actively listen to others. Our children will work with great resilience and be confident enough to seek support and help where needed.
Our learning environments, wherever they are, set out to inspire and enable learning. Childhood should be a happy, investigative and an enquiring time in our lives where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge.
Our aim is to ensure that all children leave Parkside Community Primary School not only prepared for the next step of their school career but to be caring, confident and resilient students who thrive on challenge. They will embrace global issues and be well prepared for the world beyond education.
We all believe that we are able to REACH for the stars in all that we do within the school, aiming high and building on the school values.
