Our Nurture room is an additional provision providing short term intervention for children with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties which makes it harder for them to learn in a mainstream classroom.
We facilitate a nurture based provision and a calm space for children to be able to regulate, and complete classroom work without disruption. The expectation is that the children attend class for the input delivered by their class teacher, then complete the work set in the nurture room.
Some children are on a bespoke timetable which aims to provide strategies and support managing emotions and self-regulation, enabling them to be ready to transition back into class. The Nurture room uses the Zones of Regulation curriculum to support this.
