Our music curriculum at Parkside aims to provide a rich musical experience which will benefit our children for years to come. Using Charanga to guide our music curriculum ensures that children learn the key skills required to be musically literate.
We aim to provide our children with musical experiences that will enrich our school curriculum. Recently, our year 6's worked with the world renowned choir, The Glyndebourne Chorus. Our children wrote their own pieces of music in response to Mozart's Requiem, before then performing with the choir themselves at the University of Kent Music Hall, alongside Glyndebourne's incredible orchestra. Experiences like these are once in a lifetime opportunities that our children will remember forever.
Whole School Music Progression of Skills
Working alongside Kent School of Music - we aim for all of our children to have learned how to play a musical instrument before the end of key stage two. Here are some photos of Owl class enjoying their Friday afternoon ukulele lesson.
